Dr. Miller is pleased to offer treatment of primary hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) with Botox® Therapeutic. He is currently treating the underarm and/or hands. Cost of treatment is $8.00 / unit.
Primary hyperhidrosis is a disorder that makes you sweat more than you need to and the cause is often not known. Other factors such as diabetes, menopause, nerve damage and some medications can also cause excessive sweating, called secondary hyperhidrosis.
Treatment of primary hyperhidrosis can be with topical treatments (e.g. aluminum chloride hexahydrate), iontophoresis (low-intensity electric current to affected areas), or surgery.
Botox® injected with a small needle just below the skin surface can also be highly effective. In fact, treatment success for the underarms have shown that 95% of patients experience an average reduction of 83% in one week*, with effects lasting an average of 7 months.
