What is cosmetic Botox® and why is it used?


Cosmetic Botox® is a safe derivative of botulinum toxin which temporarily freeze the small muscles in your face that cause wrinkles. Botox® is injected with a small needle into these muscles.


Does cosmetic Botox® injection hurt?


The needles used are very small but there will be some mild discomfort associated with treatment. Sometimes short term bruising, and occasionally, minor bleeding, can occur. 


How long does cosmetic Botox® treatment take?


Most sessions with Dr. Ward take between 10-15 minutes.


How long until I see cosmetic Botox® results?


You will see and feel results about 5-10 days after treatment.


How long does cosmetic Botox® last?


Typically 3 months, but sometimes longer. 


Are cosmetic Botox® treatments safe?


Yes, but please carefully review the Informed Consent sheet and ask any questions you have. If you have a neurological condition, please discuss this with Dr. Ward before treatment. 


Do men undergo cosmetic Botox® treatments?


Most certainly yes. 


How much does cosmetic Botox® cost?


The Victoria Botox®Clinic offers a rate of $8.00 per unit (cosmetic Botox® is not covered by the Medical Services Plan). GST (5%) is in addition. Frown lines and the forehead typically take 20 units each. Crow’s feet 24 units; bunny lines 8 units; and brow lift 8 units. It is possible to treat all of these areas at the same time in one treatment session. 


How do I pay?


The clinic accepts cash or cheque after each treatment. There are no consultation fees. We are able to accept credit cards or debit through Square Reader which costs an additional 2.65% to use their service. There is a $50 cancellation fee without 48 hours’ notice.
